Scoring Conventions

The scoring is based upon the rules and conventions listed below. Most may seem obvious, but writing them down is still advisable.

Team Scoring

Team Points

Team points are calculated by totalling all the games, singles and doubles, won in all league matches played in the season.

Player Scoring

Most 180s

If a player, during a league singles or doubles game, scores 180 in one visit to the oche, then that score is recorded as a 180 on the results sheet against the scoring player.

There are two categories, “all players” and “ladies only”, showing the total number of qualifying 180s scored in the season.

Most Tons

If a player, during a league singles or doubles game, scores 100 or more, including 180s and checkouts, in one visit to the oche, then that score is recorded on the results sheet against the scoring player.

Highest Checkout

If a player, during a league singles or doubles game, checks out with a score of 100 or more in one visit to the oche, then that score is recorded on the results sheet against the scoring player with a suffice of CO. e.g. 120CO.

The player’s best checkout is the highest of his/her recorded checkouts for the season.

Only players who have signed on and played regularly for at least 10 games in the season, are eligible to win the highest checkout trophy.

Most Wins

When a player wins a singles game then a win is recorded against that player’s record.

There are two categories, “all players” and “ladies only” showing the total number of qualifying wins achieved in the season.

Most Legs

The number of legs that a player wins in a singles game is recorded against that player’s record.

There are two categories, “all players” and “ladies only” showing the total number of qualifying legs won in the season.

Longest Unbeaten

When a player wins a singles game in a league match, then that win is recorded against that player’s unbeaten games record. The number of league singles wins since the last loss in a league singles game this season or the start of the season whichever is the lower, is the player’s unbeaten games score. Where a match is rescheduled, it is the original date that is used not the actual date the match was played.

Only players who have signed on and played regularly for at least 10 games in the season, are eligible to win the unbeaten trophy.

Average Points

In order to give better comparative data between players who have played different numbers of matches, the Average Points figuers shows the average number of legs won in a league singles game. This helps to differentiate between players in the bottom half of the points table. Players with a small number of games may have extreme results, so check out the number of games played before using the information.

Average Legs Difference

In order to give better comparative data between players wo have played different numbers of matches, the Average Legs Difference figuers shows the average number of legs that the player beats his/her opponent by. This helps to differentiate between players across of the whole points table. Players with a small number of games may have extreme results, so check out the number of games played before using the information.
